Fatherland – Review
Fatherland by Robert Harris is the latest book that I have read. It is a book based in a world where Germany has won the second World War, that is one of the things that makes this book so amazing.
The story is set in a scary world where the people have very little freedom to do the things that they want to do. The story is fast paced and the way Harris writes the story makes the reader fall in love with it and makes it very hard to put down the book.
The story goes like this – A corpse is fond in a lake and Hitler’s birthday is coming up in a week. The protagonist has to solve the crime before his birthday and that is when he realizes that there are many horrors hidden by powerful people and this might change the way world around him functions.
There are a lot of twists and turns in the story. There is this feeling that he creates which makes you wonder what is going to happen next.
The writer has given a lot of attention the details to make it feel more realistic.
What I personally feel is that the ending is very dissatisfying. The story is so well written that you hope that the end is gonna make you question everything and hope that you get to know what happens when the mystery is solved but that never happens.
Overall I feel that this story is amazing except the ending.
Rating – 4.7/5
